Wounded Man Faces Charges after Officer-Involved Shooting

EPD: Tyler Parrott, 47, held a gun near family members

A man faces numerous charges after an officer-involved shooting in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

It happened Sunday night on Tiffany Court, where police responded to a domestic violence call.

Police say 47-year-old Tyler Parrott had been abusive in the past and had thrown the family’s cat at the victim.

There were also young children the home.

The EPD says one of the kids told officers that Parrott was drunk and could be retrieving a gun.

Body cameras from Evansville Police show Parrott in the doorway apparently holding a gun.

Officers fired their weapons, wounding Parrott.

He was taken to a hospital and will face charges when he’s released.

Charges include battery in the presence of a child, intimidation with a deadly weapon, neglect of a dependent, animal cruelty, and battery.
