Toy Drive Set For This Weekend

911 Gives Hope

New toys, cash donations to be accepted at 3 area Walmart stores and 2 auto dealerships

A major toy drive is set for this weekend in the Evansville area. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays event invites the community to drop off new unwrapped gifts -- or a monetary donation -- to make sure children who are spending the holidays in the hospital receive some extra joy.

The Toy Drive begins Friday morning and continues through Sunday at Walmart East and West in Evansville, the Henderson Walmart, and two Henderson auto dealers: Kate Faupel Ford and Henderson Chevrolet-GMC.

Evansville Police Officer Trudy Day says Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures at Walmart East on Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The EPD thanks what it calls “all the dedicated 911 Gives Hope volunteers” as well as the community for the donations.
