The coldest air of the season and the first chance of accumulating snow are expected this holiday weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The National Weather Service says the forecast of a cold snap and light snow remains on track.
Forecasters say accumulating snow is possible Saturday but the risk of significant accumulations is low.
The weather service says there’s just a 20-to-30 percent chance of one inch of snow across the area, with the best chances north and west of Evansville.
Meanwhile, officials say temperatures forecasted for this weekend would be below normal in January.
They say the temperature may not rise above freezing during the day on Sunday.
The weather service says while the forecast is not unprecedented, it may be difficult to adjust to, after recent above-normal temperatures.
