Construction is just about finished on two roundabouts in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Officials say all lanes of the new roundabouts at Kentucky 351 -- or 2nd Street – are expected to open this Saturday.
They’ve been partially open with restrictions since the summer.
The roundabouts are part of the Ohio River Crossing project.
Spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says as the roundabouts open, the Kentucky 2084 interchange will close permanently.
Peterson says the closure due to its close proximity to the 351 interchange.
Construction of the approach to the bridge on the Indiana side began in September.
The plans call for a four-lane toll bridge east of the current Twin Bridges.
It’s expected to open in 2031, but officials have expressed hopes that the project might be sped-up.
