The goal is to allow people with transportation issues to cast their votes

The City of Evansville is partnering with METS and AARP Indiana for free bus rides on Election Day. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The city say residents can ride a METS bus at no cost to one of the 22 polling places in Evansville.

Officials say the program was created to ensure that more residents are able to vote and that transportation issues don’t stop them.

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry says the free bus rides “remove that barrier.”

Terry notes “voting is the most important right and civic duty we have as citizens of a democracy.”

Voters can choose any vote center that is convenient for them.
