Fiery Crash off I-69 Kills 1

File

ISP: A truck driver didn't stop at a stop sign and collided with an SUV at State Road 68

State Police are investigating a fiery, fatal crash on I-69. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The ISP says authorities responded to the collision on the I-69 northbound exit ramp at State Road 68, near the Gibson-Warrick county line just after 8:00 Monday night.

Investigators say 28-year-old Aziz Ermatov of California was driving a semi and apparently ran a stop sign at State Road 68 and crashed into a westbound SUV.

The ISP says both vehicles caught fire after impact and the driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There was no word on the victim’s name as of midday Tuesday.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
