Drug Take Back Set For Oct. 26th

File

Indiana State Police will collect old prescriptions at its posts across the state

If you have old prescription drugs you need to get rid of, you may want to mark October 26th on your calendar. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring the 27th nationwide “Prescription Drug Take Back” initiative that day.

The goal is to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft.

Indiana State Police will be taking part in the event.

Prescriptions can be disposed of at state police posts across the state between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th.

The ISP says the program is for liquid and pill medications only.

Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be accepted.

Needles will NOT be accepted for disposal.

This service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.

The ISP says the prescription drugs will be properly disposed of without threat to the environment.
