Two 11-Year-Olds Arrested for School Threat

File

EPD: A second young suspect was arrested on a conspiracy charge

Evansville Police now say two 11-year-olds have been arrested for making a threat against a local school. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The first juvenile was arrested on Sunday, accused of making a threat against McGary Middle School.

The EPD said the 11-year-old girl admitted to creating a fake social media account and posting a threat to “shoot up the school”.

The EVSC has said the student was looking to disrupt the school day and not cause any physical harm.

Evansville Police say during the investigation detectives uncovered a second juvenile was involved in making the online threat.

Another 11-year-old was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit intimidation.

The EPD urges parents to monitor your child’s social media and discuss the dangers-and potential consequences-of posting and spreading threats of violence.
