A McGary Middle School student has been arrested for allegedly posting a threatening message. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation says the student will receive “appropriate disciplinary action” for posting the message on social media.
The juvenile’s name has not been released.
The EVSC says it’s grateful to the district’s police, Evansville Police and the FBI for their work investigating and identifying the individual responsible.
The EVSC says investigators determined the student was attempting to interrupt the normal school day, but did not intend actual harm.
The school district shared the news with EVSC families, saying it wanted to eliminate the likelihood of rumors that may develop.
Last week, a student in Gibson County, accused of making threatening statements to Ft. Branch Community School.
