The remnants of Francine are expected to put a dent in our area’s drought. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The National Weather Service says what’s left of the powerful storm will bring much-needed rainfall to the region through Saturday.
Forecasters say rainfall totals will range from about an inch and a half in the Evansville area to near three and a half inches near the southern border of western Kentucky.
The agency says the biggest threat in our region will be tropical downpours and minor flooding.
High winds and tornadoes are not expected.
Dry conditions have prompted officials to issue burn bans in the area, including in Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Gibson and Dubois counties.
