A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in the Owensboro area on Friday. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were called to I-165 near the U.S. 60 Bypass at about 11:20 a.m.
They found a deceased man in the southbound lanes of the highway near the median.
The wrecked motorcycle was found in the northbound lanes near the shoulder.
There was no word on the victim’s name.
The sheriff’s office says a preliminary investigation determined the driver lost control of the motorcycle when he entered I-165 from the eastbound 60 bypass.
The crash, investigation and cleanup forced authorities to reduce the highway to one lane each way for nearly two hours.
