Heat, Humidity Prompt Heat Advisory

NWS Paducah

NWS: Storm threat also continues

Mother Nature is turning up the heat and humidity. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Evansville area.

It’s in effect through Wednesday.

Forecasters say the combination of temperatures in the mid-90s and high dew points will push the heat index to 105-to-110 degrees.

We’re all urged to limit time outdoors, stay hydrated, take advantage of air conditioning, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Meanwhile, the heat and humidity may create strong to severe thunderstorms.

The weather service says storms remain possible in the Tri-State through this week.
