NWS Confirms 7th Tornado in Tuesday Outbreak

NWS Paducah

Gibson County EMA helped determine twister hit near Francisco

The National Weather Service has confirmed a seventh tornado hit the area last Tuesday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The weather service says it confirmed an EF-1 twister south of Francisco in eastern Gibson County.

The bureau thanked the Gibson County Emergency Management Agency for its help on the survey.

Assessment teams earlier confirmed six tornadoes in Union County, Kentucky, and Posey and Gibson counties in Indiana.

The strongest storm, an EF-3, hit the east end of Mt. Vernon.

The weather service says an EF-2 tornado was on the ground for more than eight miles from Poseyville to Johnson in Posey County.

Numerous buildings were damaged but luckily, no injuries were reported.
