Fox-Doerr Sentenced to 90 Years

File

She was convicted last month of arranging the death of her firefighter husband

An Evansville woman convicted of killing her firefighter husband has been sentenced to 90 years in prison. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

Superior Court Judge Robert Pigman handed down the lengthy sentence Monday to 52-year-old Elizabeth Fox-Doerr for the death of Robert Doerr.

Judge Pigman ruled Fox-Doerr would serve consecutive sentences after a jury found her guilty last month of aiding, inducing or causing murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Prosecutors say she enlisted 45-year-old Larry Richmond Sr. to commit the fatal shooting outside Doerr’s home in 2019.

Richmond is scheduled to face a murder trial in November.

The victim served 28 years on the Evansville Fire Department.
