Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson shared information from parents

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff says a one-year-old boy is improving after being rescued from a backyard swimming pool. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Sheriff Noah Robinson says parents China and Alex reported one-year-old Ayko is making “positive progress.”

The sheriff did not release the family’s full names.

The parents describe Ayko as a very strong baby, and they say he won’t stop fighting until he is back home with mom and dad.

They asked for continued prayers. The family has also started a Go Fund Me account.

The baby fell into the swimming pool in the 400 block of Elm Avenue, off Hogue Road, on Friday.

Sheriff’s deputies, Perry Township firefighters and Scott Township EMS responded to the scene.

Authorities blocked roads in the area while CPR was performed on the child.

Officers escorted the ambulance to Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
