Authorities have released the identity of the man struck and killed by a speeding vehicle on Evansville’s West Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Denzel Lamar McElroy of Evansville.
Police say McElroy was hit on W. Franklin St., at 4th Ave., at about 9:20 Monday night.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers arrested the driver, who was identified as 23-year-old Romance Williams.
He faces charges of reckless homicide and drunken driving.
Williams is being held without bond at the Vanderburgh County Detention Center.
