Storms packing high winds, hail and heavy rain rolled through the Tri-State Thursday night and Friday morning. WNIN’s John Gibson has a recap:
The anticipated line of storms moved through the Evansville area around 9 p.m., after the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
The storms knocked down tree limbs and caused scattered power outages.
CenterPoint Energy reported more than 100 customers still without electricity in southwest Indiana as of mid-morning Friday.
At least one vehicle got stuck in high water under the Virginia St. viaduct in Evansville.
The weather service recorded three inches of rain at Evansville Regional Airport overnight.
The storms ushered in cooler air.
The area is forecast to see below-normal temperatures through the weekend, after highs in the 80’s this week.
