Six Indicted on Federal Drug Charges

File

The Evansville residents are accused of distributing meth, fentanyl, and cocaine

A half-dozen Evansville residents face federal charges for their alleged roles in an illegal drug ring. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging the six with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine in southern Indiana and western Kentucky.

Two of the six, 30-year-old Lovechild McGuire and 26-year-old Unique Carter, are also charged with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.

The U.S Attorney’s Office says the indictment alleges the six possessed and distributed more than 50 pounds of methamphetamine, 14,000 fentanyl pills, and 1,000 grams of cocaine from June to December of last year.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Evansville Vanderburgh Country Drug Task Force investigated the case.

They say McGuire was the ringleader who received the drugs from an unknown source.

Investigators say the drugs were stored in homes and a storage unit.
