Attorney: They don't believe they did anything "incorrectly" during Animal Control probe

The attorney for Warrick County Commissioners says they don’t believe they did anything wrong. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

Indiana State Police arrested all three commissioners, Terry Phillipe, Robert Johnson, and Dan Saylor Thursday in connection with an investigation of the county’s animal control department.

In a release, Attorney Anthony Long said “the Commissioners do not believe they did anything incorrectly during this investigation, and worked diligently to address problems at Animal Control.”

Long also said the commissioners were anxious to review the probable cause affidavit and look forward to shedding light on the situation.

The state police probe into alleged misconduct at Animal Control also led investigators to allegations that commissioners ordered restaurants and a swimming pool to be reopened after the health department closed them.

After the health director refused to do so, commissioners fired the director.

The three Warrick County Commissioners, all Republicans, posted bond after their arrests on Thursday.
