The robbery suspect crashed in Locust Hill and was captured hiding in another vehicle

A robbery suspect is in custody after an early morning police chase ended in an Evansville cemetery. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The pursuit began after a traffic stop around 2:00 a.m. on Diamond Avenue.

Authorities tell media outlets the suspect led deputies north on First Avenue and then west on Buena Vista Road.

The chase ended in a crash inside Locust Hill Cemetery, near Buena Vista and Kratzville Road.

Officials say the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran, and sheriff’s deputies and Evansville Police officers set up a perimeter.

Police say a K-9 team found the suspect hiding near the Woodbridge Apartments.

There was no word on the suspect’s name but police said he was wanted on robbery charges.
