Another Candidate Seeking Judge Seat

Molly Briles
Vanderburgh Superior Court Magistrate Molly Briles

Vanderburgh Superior Court Magistrate Molly Briles is running for Circuit Judge

Another candidate has emerged for Vanderburgh County Circuit Court judge. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

Superior Court Magistrate Molly Briles has announced her candidacy for the post.

Magistrate Briles currently presides over civil, criminal, and family law matters and serves as a judicial officer with Vanderburgh County’s adult treatment court.

She’s served as a magistrate for the past four years.

Briles says during her time, the Indiana Supreme Court has appointed her to serve on various committees to improve the court system.

If elected, Briles would be the first female Circuit Court Judge in Vanderburgh County history and only the second elected female Judge in the county’s history.

Briles joins State Representative Ryan Hatfield in the race.

Hatfield recently announced he will step down from the Statehouse and run for the Circuit Court judgeship, after current Judge David Kiely said he would retire at the end of this year.
