Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Gibson County jail. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The sheriff’s office says dispatchers were alerted to a sudden medical emergency that occurred in front of Corrections Officers at the jail in Princeton.
The officers began CPR on the man and continued until Princeton firefighters and Gibson County Ambulance crews arrived and took over.
The inmate was taken to the Deaconess Gibson Emergency Room where he was ultimately declared deceased.
The Gibson County Coroner and Indiana State Police were called in to conduct the investigation.
The coroner’s office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
The sheriff’s office says an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
