State Police are partnering with agencies across Indiana for a safe holiday

Indiana State Police say its troopers will be on “high alert” for impaired drivers this holiday week. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The ISP says it’s joining law enforcement agencies across the state to make sure everyone gets to their Thanksgiving destination safely.

Police are urging drivers to make smart decisions by not drinking and driving.

Devon McDonald, Executive Director of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, says “be proactive and plan for a sober driver.”

Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows more fatal crashes during holiday periods due to increased travel time, more alcohol usage, and excessive speed.

The ISP says by working together, we can save lives and make sure there are no empty seats at the Thanksgiving table.
