A historic tavern in northwestern Vanderburgh County is changing hands. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The Nisbet Inn has been purchased by the Strassweg family.
Officials say the sale should be complete by January 1st.
On its Facebook page, the business says a smooth transition is expected, and all gift certificates, booked caterings, and reservations will be honored.
The Strasswegs will be the 7th owners of the Inn that was built in 1912 as a railroad stop, tavern, and inn.
The current owners say the sale is “bittersweet” but they’re confident the Nisbet is in good hands and will continue to thrive in the coming years.
The Inn is on Nisbet Road, east of State Road 65.
