The partnership with the city is expected to boost trails

The Evansville Area Trails Coalition is moving to the city’s riverfront. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The city of Evansville says the Trails Coalition will move into the lower level of the Pagoda.

The move is part of a new agreement between the coalition and the Department of Parks and Recreation.

In a release, the city says the alliance promises a mutual commitment to the promotion, expansion, and preservation of Evansville's Greenway Trails System.

Deputy Mayor and Interim Parks Director Steve Schaefer says the agreement approved by the Parks Board Wednesday “brings to life” goals envisioned in the city’s 2023 Master Plan, and marks a “new chapter” in the city's commitment to connectivity and wellness.

Trails Coalition Executive Director Lorie Van Hook says she looks forward to a “bright future” where trails become an integral part of the city's identity.

The historic Pagoda sits alongside the Greenway on Evansville’s riverfront.
