A murder suspect from South Carolina has been arrested in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says police agencies developed information that Johnathon Torell Kelly was believed to be in the Evansville area.
Kelly had an active felony warrant from Allendale, South Carolina for Murder, Kidnapping, and firearm charges.
The United States Marshal Regional Task Force determined Kelly was in a residence in the 2500 Block of Pollack Avenue.
The Evansville Police Department’s SWAT team responded to the scene late Friday night and Kelly surrendered without incident.
Kelly was lodged in the Vanderburgh County jail awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
