Police are investigating a bank robbery on Evansville’s East Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
It happened at about 12:15 Monday afternoon at Indiana Members Credit Union at the corner of the Lloyd Expressway and Cross Pointe Blvd.
Witnesses told Central Dispatch that a man forced employees into the bank’s vault, stole money, and headed south on foot.
There was no word of any injuries or an accomplice.
The robber was described as a tall black man, wearing a hoodie, blue jeans, sunglasses, a black ski mask, and a hat.
Witnesses also said he had a black backpack and a walking stick.
It’s not clear if he had a gun.
Authorities say he may have gotten into a Silver Nissan Maxima after the hold-up.
