An Evansville man is dead after a workplace incident. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Gibson County Coroner says 49-year-old Thierno Balde died at the Toyota Boshoku plant on Monday.
In a statement, company vice president Rich Norris called it a “tragic event” but said the company "cannot comment on the details."
In an email, Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven reported first responders were called to the plant to "render aid to a worker inside.
He called it “an active and open investigation” but didn't provide any more details.
The coroner was sent to the business, indicating Balde died there.
Norris said the company is “fully cooperating” with the investigation and will “thoroughly review” the results of the probe to make sure “this type of incident does not reoccur."
