Bryn Dant, 35, died in the off-road crash in western Vanderburgh County

A woman is dead following an off-road crash in western Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

It happened Saturday evening in the area of Saint Wendel Road, just south of Diamond Island Road.

The Department of Natural Resources says first responders learned that a side-by-side driven by 35-year-old Natalie Skeels of Evansville lost control on a curve and hit a tree.

Concerned residents removed Skeels and her passenger, 35-year-old Bryn Dant of Poseyville, from the vehicle and attempted life-saving measures.

Dant, who police say was not wearing or using safety gear at the time of the accident, was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital where she died of her injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind ORV operators and passengers to always wear a helmet and protective riding gear, and use all safety restraints.
