ISP: Police pursuit ended in a fatal crash

A man is dead and three missing teens have been located after a deadly police pursuit in southwest Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Police were chasing a pickup truck that was reported stolen in Vigo County when it crashed into a stopped car in Knox County Friday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say the driver of the car, 88-year-old Jimmy Mayall of Oaktown, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The ISP says all three juvenile passengers in the stolen pickup truck – including the 16-year-old driver -- had been reported missing from Vigo and Owen Counties.

Two of the teens were treated for minor injuries but a third was airlifted to an Evansville hospital with more serious injuries.

The ISP said his condition was unknown.

The two teens that were treated and released were taken to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Vincennes.

Police say charges are pending.
