Authorities have released the identity of a woman killed in a Posey County car crash. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
38-year-old Jodi Beth Wheeler of Chandler died in the crash on State Road 66 at Bluegrass Road on Monday.
The Posey County Sheriff's Office says Wheeler was trapped in the vehicle after it landed in a ditch. She died at the scene.
The driver, 35-year-old Dustin Ethan Broad of Spotsville, Kentucky, was able to escape the vehicle and was taken to a hospital.
Broad was treated, released, and then taken to the Posey County Confinement Center on preliminary charges including driving while intoxicated causing death and driving with a suspended license.
The Sheriff’s Office said Broad also had several active warrants from Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.
