Fugitive Nabbed After Stealing Police Vehicle

ISP
Eric James King, 41, of Paoli

ISP: The Paoli man escaped home detention and led police on multi-county pursuit

A man accused of stealing a police car while eluding officers has been captured in southern Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Indiana State Police say Greene County Sheriff's deputies found 41-year-old Eric King in Southern Greene County Wednesday morning and arrested him without incident.

King, of Paoli, was wanted for escape out of Martin County on Tuesday.

When officers found King on US 231 in Daviess County, police say he refused to comply with officers and fled the scene in a vehicle.

It’s believed that King's vehicle ran out of gas and he pulled into a private drive.

When officers attempted to take him into custody there, the ISP says King took control of a police vehicle and rammed it into another police vehicle.

The ISP says King eventually crashed the police car in a field in southern Greene County.

Officers conducted what the ISP called “an extensive search” of the area but did not find King.

Green County deputies found him later and took him into custody.
