The decision followed the death of Police Sgt. Heather Glenn

Tell City cancelled its Fourth of July fireworks display, following the shooting death of a police officer. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The city called off the fireworks while it deals with the death of Sgt. Heather Glenn.

Investigators say 34-year-old Sean Hubert fatally shot Glenn outside Perry County Hospital early Monday morning.

Officers returned fire and wounded Hubert.

Both died at the scene.

The city invited businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff.

Mayor Chris Cail said the untimely death of Sgt. Glenn will be “felt and remembered in our community without end.”

Cail urged the community to “come together and lift each other up.”

The city held a vigil for Glenn Monday evening.
