New Portal Available to Comment on EPD

EPD

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies — or CALEA — provides the portal

A new public access portal is available for residents to comment on the Evansville Police Department. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies fully accredited the EPD in 2021.

And the commission -- known by the acronym CALEA -– is offering a new Public Access Portal.

EPD Sgt. Anna Gray says the purpose is to receive comments regarding the agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.

Gray says the comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns regarding all aspects of the Department’s management, operations, policies, procedures and support systems.

Gray notes the CALEA portal should not be used to submit information about police investigations.

You can learn more about the accreditation group and the portal at calea.org.
