A Tennessee fugitive is in the Vanderburgh County jail, accused of firing a gun on Evansville’s riverfront. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The EPD has identified the suspect as 24-year-old Khalil Titington.
Police took him into custody after he allegedly fired a pistol on Dress Plaza at about 11:25 Tuesday night.
EPD Sgt. Anna Gray says luckily, no one was injured.
Gray said a witness provided a good description of the suspect vehicle and police stopped it at the Lloyd Expressway and Main St.
Police say the driver and one of the passengers cooperated with officers but Titington was “extremely uncooperative.”
Police eventually took him into custody and drove him to the Vanderburgh County jail.
Titington was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Resisting Law Enforcement, Public Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct.
The EPD says Titington is wanted in Tennessee for Aggravated Assault with a Handgun.
