A police officer was taken to the hospital from the scene of an investigation in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
It happened just after 7:30 Wednesday morning at Madison Avenue and Akin Drive, near Akin Park.
Traffic on Central Dispatch indicated officers were arresting a stolen car suspect when an officer was reported down.
Police and firefighters administered aid until an AMR ambulance took the officer to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital with a police escort.
There was no word on the officer’s name or condition.
The suspect was reported in custody at the scene.
