The Evansville Police Department (EPD) Hazardous Devices Unit truck idles on Vine Street near the US Post Office and Federal building in Downtown Evansville, as investigators work nearby.
A perimeter has been created by the EPD with blocked streets as the FBI and local police investigate a suspicious package found inside the federal building.
Employees of the USPS and Federal building evacuated at about 12:20 PM according to an employee as the US Marshals began the investigation.
Employees were kept outside the buildings for several hours as authorities were staged at Vine and NW 8th streets.
Thee FBI is in charge of the investigation, and the release of any information on the incident.
