A man is dead after a standoff with Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Sheriff Noah Robinson told media outlets that officers shot and killed the man Wednesday afternoon while attempting to serve a warrant.
The man, who hasn’t been publicly identified, reportedly fired multiple shots at deputies and members of a U.S. Marshals task force at a home in the 7300 block of St. Joe Road.
The Coroner's Office was expected to release the man’s name Thursday.
Police say he was wanted for alleged parole violations after he was seen on video firing a gun near a juvenile last week.
At the scene on Wednesday, officers used an armored vehicle to try to get to the suspect and they say he then fired at them and was hit by return fire.
There was no word of any injuries among the officers.
