Here’s another sign that spring is around the corner: We “spring forward” this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Tri-State returns to Daylight Saving Time early Sunday morning.
You’re advised to turn clocks ahead one hour before turning in Saturday night.
Many clocks – including those on smart phones -- make the change automatically.
The time change comes more than a week before the vernal equinox, which is the official start of spring.
The change initially means more daylight in the evening and a later sunrise in the morning, but daylight will continue to increase until the summer solstice on June 21st.
The U.S. Senate passed legislation last year that would make daylight saving time permanent, ending the twice-annual changing of clocks. But the effort stalled in the House.
