A Warrick County man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for sexually abusing a young girl. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
A federal judge sentenced 34-year-old Shane Collins after he pleaded guilty to producing child sexual abuse material.
Court documents indicated Collins recorded a video of himself engaging in a sex act with a seven-year-old girl in 2021.
Investigators say Collins took more explicit pictures of the child and saved the recordings of his sexual abuse by using an internet cloud-based data storage app.
In a release, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana Zachary Myers said every day Collins is in prison is “another day we can be certain he will not harm a child.”
Myers praised the work of the FBI and the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office.
