Authorities are investigating a suspicious early-morning house fire in Evansville. WNIN’s reports:

Firefighters responded to a call in the 900 block of W. Illinois St. at about 4:40 Wednesday morning and found a two-story house on fire.

Flames and smoke from the blaze were visible from the Lloyd Expressway, and smoke was seen from farther away.

At one point, firefighters were ordered out the structure and to battle the flames only from the outside.

Aerial truck poured water from above.

A partial roof collapse was reported at the fire scene. There was no word of injuries.

Firefighters have responded to the address before, raising concerns of a possible intentional fire.
