Body of Missing Evansville Man Found

Source: ISP

ISP: Brian Colbert, 47, died in Gibson County car crash

The body of a missing Evansville man has been found in Gibson County. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Family members reported 47-year-old Brian Colbert missing on December 10th.

He was last seen leaving the Toyota plant in his car.

On Friday, Indiana State Police say a detective found Colbert’s car under a bridge on Old US 41, south of Gibson County Road 150 South.

A man matching the description of Colbert was inside the vehicle.

On Saturday, the Gibson County Coroner identified the man as Colbert.

Coroner Barrett Doyle said an autopsy was conducted and the results are pending.

The ISP says Colbert apparently ran off the road on December 9th, and his car dropped into a deep ravine, overturned, and entered Pigeon Creek near the bridge.

Investigators said anyone traveling on Old US 41 would not have been able to see the vehicle.

They said rising water levels made it even more difficult to spot Colbert’s car.
