An Evansville man is in custody a week after allegedly leading police on a brief pursuit. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Zachary Tyler Young led deputies on a chase January 4th.
Officers decided to terminate the pursuit for safety reasons and say Young’s vehicle was later found wrecked and abandoned near W. Virginia St. and Harmony Way.
The sheriff’s office says deputies found plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine near the vehicle.
Detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Joint Narcotics Task Force say they saw Young inside a vehicle near Delaware and Fifth Avenue on Tuesday and took him into custody.
Young faces charges including Dealing Methamphetamine, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Hit and Run.
