Anthony Richardson, 30, pleaded guilty to possession of child abuse materials

A Newburgh man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for possessing materials depicting child sexual abuse. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

30-year-old Anthony Richardson pleaded guilty to possession of the materials, after police executed a search warrant at his Newburgh home in July of 2020.

Police said officers found multiple electronic devices containing images of child sexual abuse.

Investigators say Richardson’s computer contained more than 1,400 videos, and they described some of them as “abhorrent crimes.”

The FBI investigated the case along with the Warrick County Sheriff’s Department.

U.S. District Judge Richard Young handed down the 12-year sentence.

Judge Young also ordered that Richardson be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 10 years following his release from federal prison.

Richardson must also register as sex offender.
