Cattle Truck Crashes in Warrick County

ISP
Surviving cattle were transferred from the trailer on its side to another one called to the scene

Some cows killed, others transferred to a different truck, some on the loose

A truck hauling cattle overturned on Interstate 64 in Warrick County Monday night, killing some cows and setting some free. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Ringle says the accident on westbound I-64 at Lynnville killed 13 cows, while 31 survived, and 14 were on the loose as of early Tuesday morning.

The crash forced police to shut down westbound I-64 until about 12:45 a.m.

Firefighters worked into the night freeing cows pinned inside the trailer that ended up on its side.

Some of the injured animals had to be put down at the scene.

Others were transferred to another truck.

The driver had minor injuries.

An investigation continues.
