Police have arrested an Evansville teen accused of leading troopers on a high-speed chase. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Indiana State Police say a trooper patrolling State Road 66 near State Road 61 in Warrick County Sunday night observed a car traveling west at 96 mph in a 60-mph speed zone.
The ISP says the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver continued west on 66 reaching 102 mph near Sharon Road.
Police say the driver of the vehicle turned onto Lincoln Avenue and finally stopped at Aberdeen Drive.
Police arrested the driver, identified as 18-year-old Devin Matthew Dewig of Evansville.
Troopers searched Dewig’s car and say they found two glass smoking devices and a small amount of marijuana.
Police took Dewig to the Warrick County Jail on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, and Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.
