Former Broadcaster Steve Gibson Dies

A former Evansville radio and TV reporter has died. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Steve Gibson was probably best known for his years of reporting for WEHT TV.

His broadcasting career began in radio at WRAY in Princeton.

Gibson later became news director at WIKY in Evansville, before moving on to television.

During all of those years, he also served as a volunteer firefighter.

In recent years, Gibson worked as a public safety officer at the University of Southern Indiana.

A family member said he had been in declining health but his death was unexpected.

Gibson was this reporter’s cousin.

Steve Gibson was 72.
