Police Arrest Suspect in Delphi Murders

ISP
Richard Allen, 50

Two teenage girls were killed in 2017

Police have arrested a suspect in the 2017 deaths of two girls in northern Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

After an extensive, nationwide investigation, the Delphi Double Homicide Task Force arrested a Delphi man for the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.

State Police say 50-year-old Richard Allen was arrested on two counts of murder and taken to the Carroll County Jail on Friday.

ISP Superintendent Doug Carter told a Monday news conference that he appreciated the media’s work to keep the story in the public eye.

He also said the arrest affidavit is temporarily sealed:

"I'm yet again asking you for your patience and please, your understanding, while our system of due process works. Also remember, that all persons arrested are presumed innocent."

Carter also cautioned the investigation is not over, and welcomed more tips and other information.

Abigail Williams and Liberty German were killed while visiting a hiking trail in Delphi.
