Avangard to Bring 200 Jobs to Posey County

Plastics recycler plans to open in 2024

A recycling facility is expected to bring 200 jobs to Posey County. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership, Posey County Commissioners, and executives from Avangard Innovative announced the company’s plans to build a 500,000 square-foot center in Mt. Vernon.

A release from E-REP says the $100 million operation will create more than 200 jobs by the end of 2024.

The facility on a 176-acre site in Mt. Vernon will be the company’s first in Indiana and will refurbish recyclables for reuse.

Avangard is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and says it uses modern techniques to recycle low-density polyethylene.

The company plans to begin construction of the Posey County facility next year. It’s expected to open in 2024.

E-REP says the company chose the Evansville region because of its proximity to market demand and material generators.
