A Newburgh man is accused of driving drunk with a baby in the vehicle. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Indiana State Police say a trooper patrolling I-69 near Morgan Avenue late Saturday night spotted a speeding pickup truck traveling southbound.
The ISP says the vehicle was clocked by radar at 90 mph.
The trooper stopped the truck a short time later on Highway 66 near Epworth Road.
Police said the driver, 28-year-old Coleman Sheridan of Newburgh, displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests.
The ISP said Coleman’s girlfriend and her one-year-old daughter were in the truck along with several open beer cans.
Police said Sheridan had a blood alcohol content of .09% -- just above the legal limit.
Police took Sheridan to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
He faces felony charges of drunken driving and a misdemeanor of Reckless Driving.
